2/24/2020 The Payson Computer Club - Payson, AZ

Image
Tonight's presentation was the last presentation on this tour of Arizona. The Payson Computer Club a few years ago changed to a Meetup club. It was a small group at tonight's meeting due to a last minute change in the meeting place. The usual meeting place at the Payson Public Library was not available due to construction. We still had an excellent meeting with many question raised by those attending. The questions asked ranged from Avast SecureLine to Avast Passwords Manager I was happy to address all of the questions asked.

2-19-2020 Personal Computer Club of Toronto - Remote Presentation

Image
Last night, I remotely joined the Club members based in Canada. We covered a very wide range of topics including the recently reported Avast data sharing controversy. Most club members , once I explained the entire story, were a lot more at ease once they had all the facts. I can't say that they rejoiced but, those club members who used Avast , are still Avast customers and will remain Avast users.

2-15-2020 Prescott Computer Society - Prescott, AZ

Image
It was an interesting afternoon yesterday. The Prescott library had installed a new projector that would not work with my computer. The club offered an older computer which worked with the new projector except, that computer didn't have PowerPoint installed. Persistence again paid off, I had uploaded a copy of the presentation to my OneDrive and was successfully able to show that presentation using an online version of PowerPoint. Maybe we should consider this a remote, in-person presentation. My thanks to the club for their patience while we worked through the problems. All's well that ends well. The presentation was well received and we had quite a few questions on various topics during and after the presentation. Avast Free , Passwords Manager , SecureLine , Avast Omni

Having Some Fun before I go back to work.

2-5-2020 Computer Booters of Sun Lakes - SunLakes, AZ

Image
More Pictures, https://photos.app.goo.gl/DwAAfhhsdTsv5br7A The Computer Booters  last night received two presentations. We spent the first half hour learning all about using  ZOOM  software to have a successful remote presentation. A remote presentation via  ZOOM  is the next best thing to being there in person. The second presentation was " Staying Safe and Secure " and covered many security related topics. The two most asked about  Avast  products were  Avast Free  and  Avast SecureLine . I also covered questions asked about the recent Avast privacy concerns.

Quote from: bob3160 on February 02, 2020, 04:39:50 PM So I'm going over my schedule for the presentations in AZ and I noticed a conflict on 2/5/2020. I'd like to blame it on my eyesight but that would be a cop out. I screwed up. Hopefully, one of the clubs can re-schedule. If not, one club will be disappointed and probably a bit mad at me for not having seen that mistake earlier.   So I've heard back from John at  Dreamland Computer Club I am still sorry that I made a mistake in my bookings but, I am very happy that the video of the presentation I had created some time ago, saved the day. John has already been added to next year's schedule.

2/3/2020 Sunland Village East Computer Club - Mesa, AZ

A nice turnout to start of my visit to Arizona. The presentation started with a question about the recent articles about Avast and data sharing. I said I would address the issue following the presentation. The presentation was well received and as promised, followed by a Q&A session covering mainly the question I was asked in the beginning. We covered what was shared and we went over the settings in Avast concerning personal privacy. Most members were happy with the fact that there was a way to turn of sharing their information even in the free version.
