This evening I spent some ZOOM time with the WAUC members in Milwaukee, WI
The meeting was a hybrid meeting where most attended in person and some members joined via ZOOM.
I had joined early and found out the those attending in person had no internet access at the church they used for  the meeting place. The suggestion to use a phone as a hotspot solved the problem.
After the presentation the members asked questions on the following topics: Identifying spam emails and marking them as such so the wind up in the Spam folder not the In-box, what does Avast's Smart Scan check.
I was also asked if there was a way to check a website to see if might be malicious.
There are websites that actually do that service by seeing if the website is currently considered malicious by many AV programs.
Virus Total and URLVoid are just two of those types of websites.

Bob,

I went to bed tonight with an uneasy feeling like I was leaving something undone.

I was all snuggled in and fell asleep.

Now I wake up and my eyes fly open. I didn't send a message to Bob G!!

So, here I am....

Thank you so much for the great information tonight! J J told us we were really in for a great presentation and boy, was he right!

Your information was great. We didn't know all the names of the different types of phishing, whaling, etc.

We must keep this information front and center. Sadly one of our members for years was tangled up in one of the scams where he was going to be awarded $18 million. He lost tens of thousands of dollars. So heartbreaking. He was a widow, older, his kids weren't close, etc. Everyday was going to be the day his money was coming. Instead there was always one more hoop he had to jump through and had to send a few hundred dollars again for some delay. It was really sad. He passed away and was left with very few assets.

You did a great job, as always. At the beginning we had a bit of audio trouble on our end until Don connected some speakers. Then all was well.

We greatly enjoyed the animations and sound effects too! You're getting pretty fancy! We really liked it too!

It was obvious you put a great deal of research into your report and we learned so much from it.

Next week Thursday is our Tutorial SIG and we're going to make sure all our members know how to use all the software you spoke about in your presentation. such a checky, CCleaner, Recuva, etc.

Please send your presentation to our President Don Skarda, ddsjr33@wi.rr.com . I don't know how to put it on our Groups.io but Don knows how.

We were so happy to have you this evening and you did not disappoint! That was a great presentation; well thought out, great flow, loved the information spoken and on cards, enjoyed the layout and were greatly amused at the jokes.

Everything was so nice and informative.

Thank you so much for sharing your time and knowledge with us. We greatly appreciate you.

Take care and we'll see you next year.
