Today’s troublemaker is the glowing green “Verified” checkmark you see in emails or texts. Scammers love dressing up messages with official‑looking icons, stamps, shields, and badges that scream Totally Legit! Spoiler alert: they can fake those faster than a teenager can fake cleaning their room. Here’s the real deal: ✅ A checkmark in an email means absolutely nothing by itself ✅ Real institutions don’t ask you to “confirm your identity” through a random link ✅ If the email is rushing you, threatening you, or promising goodies… yeah, no Cyber‑Bob Says: “If a message tries this hard to look official, it probably isn’t.” Your move today: Before clicking anything that looks “verified,” stop for three seconds and ask: “Would a real company actually contact me like this?” If the answer feels even a little squishy, delete it and car...
