Sora Is Gone — And Yes, I’m Disappointed
There are some messages you never want to see on your screen. This one was painfully simple: “Sora is no longer available. You can export your data at any time.” Well, thank you very much, OpenAI. According to OpenAI’s own help page, the Sora web and app experiences were discontinued on April 26, 2026 , while the Sora API is scheduled to continue until September 24, 2026 . OpenAI also recommends exporting Sora content as soon as possible, because after any final export period, Sora-related data may be permanently deleted.
