So Who Needs AI Anyway

Image
Maybe this will make you a believer? I had all but given up hope of ever restoring this image of my Grandfather until an article in Android Authority pointed out a remarkable feature of Gemini AI's  - Nano Banana (Image Generation)  I took a picture of the faded image, used it as an input in Gemini and asked it to put Nano Banana to work restoring that faded image. You be the judge - I am amazed by the results.

The AI "Common Sense" Trap - Why a "Reset" Isn't Always the Answer

Image
Caution: AI is smart, but it often lacks common sense. I recently ran into a frustrating wall with Google Chrome. I wanted to add a new shortcut to my home screen, but the "Add Shortcut" button had simply vanished. Naturally, I asked the built-in AI (Gemini) for help. The AI gave me a "nuclear" solution: "Reset your Chrome settings to factory defaults." The Problem? Once you hit 10, the button disappears. There was nothing "broken" in my settings; the "room" was just full. The AI was smart enough to know how to reset a browser, but not "common sense" smart enough to count to ten.  Bob’s Advice: 1. Count before you Click: If a feature disappears, check if you’ve hit a limit. 2. Question "Nuclear" Advice: If an AI ...
